Post-diet weight management

Written by • January 19, 2010 • in: Follow-up, KOT Diet Plan

The post-diet phase is very important given that a large number of subjects regain the lost weight after several weeks or less effort.
It is essential to be prudent and offer some rules to help preserve the benefits of the diet and thereby promote weight stabilization.

  • Keeping good nutritional habits for life. The frozen and ready-to-eat foods by KOT help maintain weight balance.
  • Continue to avoid pastries, fried foods, processed foods etc.
  • Reduce consumption of sweets: one pastry per week is a good compromise.
  • Continue to opt for foods with low GI; vegetables, fruits, cereals and fiber rich starches.
  • Stay loyal to the omega-3’s by eating rapeseed, walnut, pumpkin seed oils, as well as fatty fish, while limiting your intake of omega-6.
  • Continue to favor dairy products made with sheep and goat milk (open range animals), which contain more satiating proteins than those in cow's milk in addition to providing additional omega-3’s.
  • Continue to use spices, condiments and aromas to make recipes more savory.
  • Avoid sandwich meats, which have high concentrations of saturated fats and salt (except for low-fat ham or chicken).
  • Reduce consumption of alcohol and opt for vintage champaign (not as highly concentrated in sugar). It is wiser to choose high-quality wine and only drink it twice a week, with a maximum of 2 glasses per meal.
  • When going out to dinner, eat an appetite-suppressing (satiating) preparation half an hour before the event: this reflex will help you make it through the appetizers without falling into a trap or feeling frustrated.
  • In case of a lapse, follow up with Intensive Slimming Phase the following day, eating no bread or fruit in order to make up for it.
